Good Fats and Weight Loss – Health Tips

When talking about weight loss, fats are deemed to be the enemy; however that may not always be the case. Good fats and weight loss are in fact related to each other. The truth of the matter is that a no-fat diet can seriously damage your health. In truth, our bodies require essential fatty acids every day in order to sustain health and at the same time to feel full and contented. There are a lot of advantages of good fats and the following are just some of them.

Good fats help in
– hormone regulation
– brain function and nervous system activities
– organ functions
– preserving the health of the digestive system
– maintaining the health of the immune system

Diseases and other health conditions which are related to deficiency of essential oils include behavioral disorders like depression and ADHD, some forms of cancer, diabetes, asthma, heart diseases, stroke and obesity.

For Weight Loss, Avoid Bad Fats

The hydrogenated fats is the worst, which are also known as trans-fatty acids or trans fats. If you find foods containing trans or hydrogenated fats, don’t buy that food. Good fats and weight loss go together and bad fats and more weight also come hand in hand. Trans fats are known to increase the levels of bad cholesterol which can lead to clogged arteries, heart diseases, some types of cancers and diabetes. Our bodies cannot process trans fats and they will be treated as toxins and will remain stored in the cells.

Consuming trans fats also increases your food cravings, so it is best to avoid them. In order to lessen hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated fats in foods, avoid margarine and other shortenings. You should also avoid crackers, chips, popcorn, cookies as well as other snacks and other convenience foods. Look at food labels carefully and avoid bad fats, go only for good ones.

For Losing Weight, Have Good Fats Daily

Go for essential fatty acids (EFAs) also known as good fats. There are 2 kinds of EFAs – Omega-3 and Omega-6. These essential fatty acids are found in meats, grains, some cooking oils such as corn, sunflower, leafy green vegetables, oily fish like salmon, eggs and walnuts.

Coconut oil is considered as a star of good fats. It has saturated but not trans fats. It contains lauric acid which is known to prevent heart diseases, improve the immune system and increase the metabolic rate which allows you to lose weight and to increase energy levels. Good fats and weight loss are intertwined and so, go for this group of fats.
