VILLUPURAM: All-around 50 farmers from northern districts participated in a two-working day exhibition on organic paddy seeds, and conventional meals competition held in Villupuram on Saturday and Sunday. The fourth year of this exhibition saw ryots imparting their knowledge on organic farming, battling weather change to young farmers.
The exhibition displayed 460 types of common seeds of paddy, pulses and medicinal herbs. Moreover, about 39 varieties of organic and natural seeds of vegetables have been up for sale, such as organic and natural seeds of tomatoes, females finger and drumstick. Aside from seeds, normal fodder for cattle with improved concentrations of protein and vitamins and minerals were being also marketed.
