The Queen is after an “ambitious” new chef who can travel with her around the various Royal residences such as Balmoral and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
The Demi Chef de Partie (Pastry) would primarily report to work at London’s Buckingham Palace, but must also be happy to cook at other royal residences such as Balmoral and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
An advert on the royal website said the successful applicant will be joining an “accomplished team of professionals” working hands-on to deliver food to the “highest standard”.
It adds: “You’ll prepare diverse menus for a wide range of events, developing new skills that will help you to take the next step in your career.”

The role, which would be based in the pastry kitchen, would be “diverse, interesting and rewarding,” the description continued, in an environment where development and training are on-going.
“As you’d expect, standards and attention to detail are exceptionally high here, and every day is busy, so you’ll need to be an ambitious and qualified pastry chef with at least a year or two’s experience.

“You may have some previous experience within a five-star kitchen or similar environment, but it’s your ability and enthusiasm to deliver efficiently across all aspects of the Pastry kitchen that we’re looking for.
“You’re at your best working in a team, and with your strong communication skills and adaptability, you’ll enjoy working alongside your colleagues.
“Most importantly,” the description stated, the successful candidate should have a “clear passion” for food, in particular, pastry, and must be “eager to learn new skills”.
The chef would have the offer of accommodation – “for which there is a salary adjustment ” – and all meals provided.
